My dear faithful and all readers of this forum,
The Catholic Church, founded on the foundation of the 12 Apostles, believes, among other things in Unity, Service and Liturgy. Anything that works to promote especially these three areas is highly applauded, upheld and encouraged by the Church.
Unity of her members is so crucial that almost all prayers and especially the Holy Mass keeps praying, like Jesus, “that they may be One” – “One Body one Spirit in Christ” – (cf. John 17:21-23; Eucharistic Prayer III et.al). This is in keeping with the Church’s Creed in which her members profess belief “in One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church”, which in turn makes her members parts of the One Body of Christ (cf. 1 Cor 12:12-27//). Most of the prayers of the Church also use the plural form, for the Church prays as One. The celebration and reception of the Eucharist is itself geared toward this Unity.
The Liturgy (or Liturgies) of the Church (all Sacraments included), not only gives life to, but also nourishes the life of the One Body of Christ. In Baptism we are born through a Liturgy; in the Eucharist we are fed through a Liturgy, and in confirmation we are strengthened and firmed up through a liturgy. In the Sacraments of both Confession and Anointing, we are healed in a Liturgy; and finally marked for service through the Liturgies of Marriage and Holy Orders.
In all the above Sacraments, we are constantly being sent, in the power and authority of Christ, to “go to the whole world making disciples of all nations” (Mat. 28:18-20). But the mission of the church does not end in conversions, but also in Service to all, without discrimination.
It is in this regard that I find the new opening, being established by our able team of web developers, the noblest opportunity for the Church of St. Patrick to leap to the next level of her mission in Thika and world at large. That everyone will be able to access the programs of evangelization and also use the forum to evangelize others, is a sweet dream come true.
All I, as your shepherd, would wish to request everyone is that we use this wall for the benefit of faith and morals in a world bedeviled by all kinds of confusion, ranging from the devil’s soft whisper of temptation to the devil’s shout of triumph at creating despair in our people. We in this forum refuse completely to be carried by his sway and make this solemn oath to use this forum to liberate all, in the power and authority of Christ JESUS, first by being fair-minded to all and also by being generous in thought, words and ideas that can only build but not destroy the Kingdom of God among us.
Evangelization through ICT is one of our key strategies highlighted in our (St. Patrick’s) Strategic Plan 2019-2023. May God bless us all and help this Website see the Light of the Day! May all who use it be brought closer to each other and God! May they be One, just as Jesus and the Father are one!
God Bless you all!
Yours in the service of Christ Jesus,
Fr. Kamũyũ Anselm
